As I looked in the mirror this fine morning I had to see the reflection of the man that I’ve ever been. While older now, allocate grayer, and maybe a little heavier, but still the same person staring back has always been me. As I turn my attention back to reality a rapturous smile comes back now and again. Awareness my thoughts have taken me back when infectious smile held me captive in what I thought was the promise land.
The years have flown by since, but I’m always reminded of the passion that we shared. The instant ecstasy lovers sweet hug when the world was less complicated and time stood still now rekindled the afterthought of what love can bring. Not a moment was wasted in love so much. But, little did we know that all would end. The joy that one summer quickly passed in grief when Autumn Leaves fell. Loneliness of next season as bitter cold wind kept calling her name could not extinguish the burning desire of the heart of the fire.
It was not until the next spring the warmth of the sun came back with resilience purposes where life would go on. But, always in the bottom of my mind that the flame of desire has kept flickering now and again. In moments of solitude over the years I always think back to the days of the summer. The moon lit nights sintered so bright reflecting off of the lake is less so dear. We would sail into the sunset many time always hoping the night would never end. But, as each day dawned, thought they were so few, we begin to realize time does not stand still.
Now, in the twilight of my years in which the world is so convoluted, so worried, and complex it is amazing how much my life has changed. Athletic victories to romantic interludes young man that I had over the years have mellowed where memories become dear. Those moments of a love passionate so long ago it seems like it was just yesterday my memory is fresh. So vivid recounting the passionate times come tear of regret, but for the joy of life that was fortunate. I’ve just now realized that the days of summer time has stood still. It is because memories are always kept alive in my mind.
